Green Sox Top Coalition, 3-2
|
2051 is shaping up to be a forgettable year for the Columbus Coalition.
The Lubbock Green Sox took Columbus pitcher Wes Slaughter's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Agent 47 Field. The final score had Lubbock getting past the Coalition, 3-2. Slaughter went 7 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 11. Lubbock reliever Juan Escalante picked up the win, raising his record to 4-7. Brent Morgan was tagged with the loss.
Lubbock used the clutch hitting of Yin-xiang Bing to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to give the Green Sox the lead, 3-2. For the game, Bing had 2 singles and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Bing.
The 4th-place Green Sox go to 47-62.
