Beau Wills never let the Kings get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Eagles to a win, 6-1. Wills got the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 5 hits and walked 0 over 5 innings. Wills allowed 1 run. After today's action, Houston sits at 55-57, while Kansas City falls to 44-68.
Paul Broderick had a big 2-run home run for the Eagles in the top of the second inning. With Houston leading 2-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from Ryan Patrick and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 23rd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Eagles ahead, 4-0.
"Winning is all that really matters and we got it done today," Broderick told the Houston Times.
