Late Magic Gets St. Charles 4-2 Win
|
Despite a fine performance by right fielder Miguel Peña, the Jersey Shore D-Bags lost to the St. Charles Sheens, 4-2. Peña hit 2 home runs. Jeremy Gottfried got the save, the 32nd for him this season. St. Charles now has a record of 77-71 with the win.
St. Charles used the timely hitting of Lou Pickhills to capture the win. The pinch hitter socked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Sheens ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a big one.
"I thought we played a nice game," Pickhills told the St. Charles Citizen. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
