Win Streak Now at 6 for Admirals
|
Behind the hitting of Francisco Delgado, the Seattle Admirals stopped the Greenville 84's, 5-4. Delgado went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Admirals. Seattle pitcher Ernie Zarpesse got the win, upping his record to 1-1. Gang-sheng Eng got the loss. Arnold Herman recorded the save, making him 1 for 1.
Delgado contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Seattle in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 3-2, Delgado took a sinker from Gang-sheng Eng and stroked the home run to left. His 36th home run of the season allowed the Admirals to leap in front, 5-3.
"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Delgado.
The Admirals, at 112-47, have now won 6 straight.
