Setback for G-Strings and Javier Mejía Wednesday, June 21st , 2051 "It's worse than we thought." That was the news from the G-Strings clubhouse today as it was learned that second baseman Javier Mejía will be out for an added 1-2 weeks as a result of a recent injury. His treatment for an oblique strain will have to be extended. Initially it didn't seem the injury was a major concern, but the Nashville second baseman told team trainers of some discomfort yesterday morning, and upon examination it was determined to be a more serious injury. "We'd rather take this thing slowly and make sure Javier gets back onto the field healthy," said the team's head trainer. In 53 games this season Mejía has batted at a .217 pace with 39 hits and no home runs. |
