Byrd Sizzles -- Smokes Knights for 5 Hits Wednesday, September 13th , 2051 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Michael Byrd today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at The Ballpark at Sloss Furnace and paced the Yetis to a 5-2 win over the New York Knights. After his dynamite batting performance, the Yonkers center fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. Michael Byrd singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and singled in the 7th. Currently Byrd has 33 home runs and a .272 batting average.
