Carl Miller Strokes 3 Home Runs
Thursday, July 13th , 2051
Minnesota Death Stars center fielder Carl Miller sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little.
Prior to the start of today's contest with the Concord Coyotes, Miller told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times.
"During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber."
The big day from Miller pushed the Death Stars past the Coyotes, 12-4. To go along with the homers, he collected 5 RBIs and scored 4 runs.
"I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Miller told reporters after the game.
Carl Miller hit a two-run home run off Marc McIntyre in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Greg Wright in the 4th, struck out in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Hugh McJannett in the 8th.
For the year Miller is batting .357 with 121 hits and 51 home runs. He has scored 89 times and driven in 94.
