Gilbert's Season Could be Over
Monday, August 14th , 2051
Ed Gilbert of the Tacos just might have to call it quits for the season. The 24-year-old Chula Vista reliever received a possible season-ending injury against the Aberdeen Scorpions recently at Grays Harbor Ballpark. Gilbert suffered a torn ulnar collateral ligament while throwing a pitch. The Tacos medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 14 months.
Gilbert has taken the mound for 27 relief appearances this season, nailing down 2 saves while notching a 5-4 record with a 4.31 ERA. The Chula Vista reliever has limited opposing batters to a .240 batting average.
