El Paso Star, Pitcher of the Year Award Winner Friday, October 6th , 2051 The Jeff Cole League made the official announcement today. The 2051 Jeff Cole League Pitcher of the Year Award has gone to Luis Martínez of El Paso. He had a superlative season, chalking up a 16-5 won-lost mark with an impressive 3.00 ERA. Martínez logged 27 starts, threw 159 innings, yielded 119 hits, struck out 204 and held the opposition to a .205 batting average. He received 28 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Wladimir Nuyten of the San Juan Tigres finished second in voting, while Juan Martínez of the Washington DC Hot Sauce finished third.
