Edwards Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits
It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-6 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for William Edwards, it came around today.

The 16-year-old third baseman scattered hits all over Field of the Torchmen to pace the 26-9 Tacoma HS Torchmen victory over the Plumstead Christian HS Panthers.

Plumstead Christian HS skipper Rafael Sánchez told reporters in the press room that "Edwards deserves a hat-tip."

"He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Edwards hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit."

William Edwards walked in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Corey Ryan in the 7th.

In his season totals Edwards has 7 home runs and a .357 batting average.
