Lonnie Jordan Blanks Newark, 4-0
|
Lonnie Jordan hurled a fine game for the Millbrae Scoobys at Newark Recreational Ballpark, holding the Newark Bulldogs to 7 hits in a shutout win.
"When he started out, his command wasn't that good, but he's a tough guy," Millbrae manager Dick Davis said. "The more pitches he throws, the better his command is."
The right-hander had 12 strikeouts and 1 walk in the 4-0 victory.
"An outstanding job," Newark manager Jorge Villalobos said. "We couldn't get anything going. Every time we got a hit, he got out of the jam. He pitched a terrific game."
This year, Jordan has gone 5-4 with an ERA of 5.05 and has 60 strikeouts in 67.2 innings.
