Patterson Blasts 3 into Bleachers
Saturday, August 28th , 2055
Redwood City Redwoods first baseman Spike Patterson had a magnificent game against the Galveston Tides, rocketing three balls out of Redwood Park to help the Redwoods win, 20-5.
"I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them," he said after the game. "The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves. All three were mistakes."
For the game, Patterson went 3-for-6 with 8 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives," Redwood City manager Jeffrey King said later. "Seems like Spike found his home run stroke today."
Spike Patterson hit a three-run home run off Bill West in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Miguel González in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Miguel González in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th.
For the year, Patterson is batting .306 with 25 home runs.
