Petty Raps 3 HR Against Suns
Sunday, July 25th , 2055
Randall Petty brutalized the San Antonio Suns pitching staff, launching three home runs in the 14-10 Bismark victory at Roger Maris Field. The Bismark Border Guards first baseman was red-hot, the ball just exploding off his bat all day.
"I don't try to hit homers," he said later. "I try to go out there and put a good swing on the ball, and sometimes it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one."
For the game, he went 3-for-3 with 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"Too much Randall Petty today," Suns manager José Gómez said. "That's my assessment of the game. That's what our problems boiled down to."
Randall Petty walked in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Marco Montarroio in the 2nd, walked in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Rafael Lucero in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Wladimir Nuyten in the 7th.
This year, Petty is hitting at a .309 pace with 55 home runs and 111 RBIs. He has played in 104 games and scored 87 times.
