Hitting Streak Still Alive for Barnett Monday, August 9th , 2055 James Barnett ran his hitting streak to 20 straight games at Wrangler Field, when he collected 2 hits in 6 at-bats. The feat came, however, as the Bismarck Black Mambas dropped the game, 9-7, to the Joplin Miners. "Hey, the streak is great -- I hope it never ends," Barnett said later. "But I'm not happy to lose the game." James Barnett singled in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, struck out in the 8th, grounded out in the 10th and hit an RBI single in the 11th. This year, Barnett has hit at a .285 clip with 47 RBIs, 10 home runs and 64 runs scored. |
