Merritt Strokes 6 Hits Friday, May 7th , 2055 Shawn Merritt did a number on the Horned Frogs in the 15-9 Louisville victory -- and the number was 6. The Cardinals first baseman banged out 6 hits in 6 at-bats at Lupton Stadium to lead his club past the Texas Christian Horned Frogs. "I felt good in the batter's box," he said. "I had confidence in my swing and knew that it was there and that I could get the job done." Shawn Merritt singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Ron Lee in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Curt Cox in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
