Wildcats Win Elite 8 Tuesday, June 1st , 2055 College Baseball pundits who figured the Elite 8 between the Kentucky Wildcats and Georgetown Hoyas would go the distance were right on the mark. The two teams battled back and forth in a spirited series, with Kentucky coming out on top thanks to a 8-6 win in the deciding game at Cliff Hagan Stadium, to wrap things up 2-1. "You get to the last game and anything can happen, so we're overjoyed to come out on top," said Wildcats first baseman Pedro Álvarez, who was named series MVP.
