Kentucky reliever Jorge Romo suffered a season-ending injury throwing a pitch in today's game against the Cavaliers. According to club doctors Romo has a stretched elbow ligament. Although Romo has declined to comment, sources close to the player have stated that he is "devastated" that he will miss the playoffs.
To date this year, he has registered 4 saves, 3 wins and no losses with a 2.61 ERA. Romo has made 12 relief appearances, worked a total of 20.2 innings and surrendered 17 hits. He has fanned 23, issued 7 free passes and held opposing clubs to a .221 batting average.
