Hughes Hit Streak Soars to 20 Games Monday, April 19th , 2055 Win or lose, Ambrose Hughes just keeps on getting base hits -- game after game after game. He picked up 1 more today and has now stretched his hitting streak to 20 games. The Joliet HS Matatdors second baseman went 1-for-4, but it wasn't enough to win the game. His club was defeated, 6-3, by the Wilde Lake Wildecats at Metropolitans Stadium. "It's amazing to watch him hit right now, but I don't think anybody's really mentioning it," one of his teammates said. "We just don't want to jinx him." Ambrose Hughes struck out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 6th and singled in the 8th. This season, Hughes is batting .400 with 34 hits, 5 home runs, 22 RBIs, .485 OBP and has scored 17 runs. |
