Green Sensational, 5-for-5 Friday, April 23rd , 2055 Vern Green had an answer for everything the Oliver Ames HS Tigers threw at him at Minute Maid Park. The Rockford HS second baseman went 5-for-5 in the game to put his name in the record book and give the Astros a win, 8-7. Summing up his batting philosophy to BNN writers after the game, Green said, "I just see the ball and I hit it." Vern Green hit a two-run home run off Andrés Madrid in the 1st, hit a GRAND SLAM off Andrés Madrid in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th and singled in the 7th.
