Danila Torches Braves for 5 Hits
Thursday, April 29th , 2055
The St. Louis HS White Sox stopped the Santa Ana HS Braves by a score of 25-5 at U.S. Cellular Field, with the lion's share of the credit going to second baseman Alecu Danila. The 16-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Danila said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Danila did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Braves.
"Not much that I can say," offered Santa Ana HS manager Chad Case. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Alecu Danila hit a solo-shot off Jack Emerson in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Vicente Navarro in the 4th, tripled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, was hit by a pitch in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.
In his season totals Danila has 8 home runs and a .362 batting average.
