Calrissian Need Extra Innings to Top North Stars, 5-4
|
Minnesota shortstop Alain Genty was sensational. He was 5-8 with a home run, a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Orlando beat the North Stars, 5-4. Watson Reed earned the save for Orlando, his 18th of the year. The Calrissian now own a record of 38-44.
The game was at a stalemate until catcher Bill Harvey came to bat in the top of the 19th. Facing Minnesota pitcher Marcos Benavides, he hit a first pitch cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Orlando on top, 5-4.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Harvey told the Orlando News.
