The Nashville G-Strings racked up a win at Gibson Guitar Park, bumping off the St. Louis Browns, 4-2. Félix Hernández, who started for Nashville, pitched effectively for his team. Hernández picked up the win for Nashville, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 8-3. Ernest Williams, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 16th save.
The G-Strings got a big at-bat from right fielder Pat Tate. For the game, Tate was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Nashville a 3-0 lead.
