D-Bags Lose to Steers, 2-1
|
Dallas Steers starter Jorge Marino pitched a strong game against the Jersey Shore D-Bags at Seabreeze Stadium, leading the Steers to victory, 2-1. Sergio Hernández, credited with the win, is now 3-0. He allowed no runs on no hits. Bernard Cháves got the save, his 16th in 18 chances.
Kenny Shaffer, who finished 3rd in the in doubles with 43 in 2042, aided the Dallas cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the third baseman was 1-3 with a double.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Marino.
The triumph puts Dallas at 49-41 for the season.
