Wave Use Late-Game Magic to Beat North Stars, 5-2
|
Minnesota got a big-time effort from pitcher Dave Ramey, but it wasn't enough to keep the Maui Wave from winning the game, 5-2. Ramey threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Harry McGee came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits in 2 innings. His record now stands at 2-1. Maui has now won 4 games in a row.
Maui used the clutch hitting of Yifu Tsui to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Wave the lead, 3-2. For the game, Tsui had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
In postgame comments, Tsui told the Maui Chronicle: "Do people still doubt I give 100 percent?"
