Irvine Wins, Hamilton has 4 RBI
|
The Irvine Gang Green beat the St. Louis Browns, 12-7, at The Ballpark at Irvine. Irvine right fielder Mike Hamilton had an outstanding performance. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. With the win, Irvine pushed its record to 57-44.
Mike Johnson drew 1 walk for Irvine. The 27-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 7-7 tie with a run-scoring walk off Jesús González. It was his 23rd walk of the season.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Hamilton told the Irvine Today.
