Cervezas de Miami Keep Streak Alive with Late Rally
|
Columbus got a valiant performance from pitcher Wes Slaughter, but it wasn't enough to beat the Cervezas de Miami. Cervezas de Miami won the game, 6-4. Slaughter threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. The winner was Cervezas de Miami reliever Bernardo López, now 3-2. The loser was Brent Morgan. Johnny Quick picked up the save, his 29th.
Cervezas de Miami used a clutch hit from Kai-ge Chuang to get the win. The catcher drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Cervezas de Miami ahead, 6-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Chuang told the Cervezas de Miami Bulletin. "Whatever it takes."
Cervezas de Miami has now won 5 in a row.
