Kings Sneak Past Eagles, 9-8
|
Kansas City right fielder Anatolio Uribe contributed to his team's 9-8 win over the Houston Eagles. Uribe, who finished 3rd in the BSA in hits with 199 last year, went 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Kings. The winner was Jorge Urista in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Jorge Denoco took the loss. The loss has the Eagles at 8-6.
Kansas City won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With no outs and Jorge Denoco on the mound for Houston, catcher Cliff Ball hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Kings fans to their feet.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Kansas City manager Fernando De La Cruz.
