Irvine used the timely hitting of Jessie Jacobs to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Gang Green on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

Jacobs called the triumph "a good team win."
