Multi-HR Game for Harmon in 3-2 Win
|
Ron Harmon impressed in the 3-2 Nashville win over Greenville. Harmon, who finished 2nd in the in runs with 133 in 2038, hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The winner in relief was Bill Lund. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 1.2 innings. He now owns a record of 3-6. Getting the save was Ernest Williams, his 25th.
Harmon had a timely hit for Nashville in the bottom of the eighth. With Greenville trailing 2-1, he turned a 1-2 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 18th home run of the season, making it 3-2, Nashville.
Afterward, G-Strings manager Vince Butterworth was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
