A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Cervezas de Miami and St. Charles Sheens.
Carlos Suárez left his imprint on the 9-4 Cervezas de Miami win against the St. Charles Sheens. Suárez, who is tied for 10th in the BSA in triples with 1, was 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The winner was Tim Howitt, who threw 106 pitches over 5.2 innings. The left-hander was charged with 1 run on 4 hits.
With Cervezas de Miami leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Suárez hit a fastball from Melvin Hill for a 3-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Cervezas de Miami ahead, 4-0.
"The team always comes first, so pulling out the win on a day like today is the most important thing," Suárez told a reporter while responding to autograph requests. "Our fans like to come out to see a win, so I'm happy to do what I can to give them that."
St. Charles, with the loss, is 9-10.
