Steers Improve to 15-10 with 5-2 Win
|
The inspired effort of Chicago second baseman Jason Oliver was not enough to prevent a loss, 5-2, to the Dallas Steers. Oliver went 3-4 with 2 home runs and a double. Jorge Marino picked up the win with 6 innings of work. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 8. On the season, he is now 4-1. Jeff Watkins closed the game out for Dallas, earning his 5th save.
Duane Arellano took Sixto González deep in the bottom of the third. His 2-run home run put the Steers on top, 3-1. In all, Arellano had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"I'm glad we can make our fans happy with a win," Arellano told the Dallas Daily.
Chicago drops to 11-14.
