Extra-Inning Win by Machine Over RubberDucks
|
A 4-RBI performance from the 24-year old catcher John Morton helped the Chicago Machine beat the Charleston RubberDucks, 7-3. Reliever Jonathan Currall picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Luis Coronado took the loss. Chicago has a record of 15-18, placing them 6th in the Fire Division.
Morton had a game-changing home run in the top of the 11th. On a first pitch sinker from Luis Coronado, he banged a grand slam home run to left-center, giving the Machine a 7-3 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Morton.
"Glad to get this win," said Morton. "But we need to keep playing at a high level."
