North Stars Rally For 5-1 Win
|
Led by Willie Griffin, the Minnesota North Stars downed the Charleston RubberDucks, 5-1. Griffin was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the North Stars. Markus Blackwell earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 2-1. Minnesota is 28-14 and Charleston, with the loss, 24-18.
Griffin had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 1-1 fastball from Erwin Mills, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the North Stars a 2-1 lead. It was the 19th home run of the year for Griffin.
"Winning never gets dull," said Griffin.
