Even as a kid, Arturo García said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Menlo Park, García showed how well he learned that lesson.

The 24-year-old third baseman had 5 hits in 5 at-bats for the Menlo Maniacs, helping his team knock off the Oklahoma City Owls by a score of 11-3.

"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did."

Arturo García hit a two-run home run off Zander Fortenberry in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Allen Davis in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Allen Davis in the 8th.

To date García has chalked up a .266 average with 18 home runs, driven in 56 runs and scored 33 times.
