Wall Swings for the Cycle
Ed Wall was jubilant as the Santa Fe Diablos left the field with a win, 13-2, over the San Antonio Suns. He had every right to be.

The 22-year-old center fielder hit for the cycle at Palancar Gardens, had a 4-for-6 game and added 5 runs batted in and 2 runs to boot.

"It's too bad I can't do that every day," Wall said with a smile to reporters after the game. "It would do wonders for my batting average."

Santa Fe manager José Morán was "proud" of the center fielder's feat, but was not expecting it to happen.

"Cycles are tough because triples are tough," the skipper said. "As soon as the ball left the bat on that triple, guys were jumping off the bench for him. Honestly, I wasn't sure he was going to be able to leg it out."

Ed Wall struck out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Rafael Lucero in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run triple in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 9th.

Wall is currently batting .398 with 22 home runs and 64 RBIs.
