Browns Improve to 45-18 with 5-2 Win
|
The St. Louis Browns picked up a win at Gateway Stadium, taking down the Columbus Coalition, 5-2. Starting pitcher Mark Barber was a big reason why. Barber got the win, improving to 6-3. He allowed 4 hits and walked 0 over 8 innings. Barber allowed 2 runs. St. Louis is now 45-18, 9½ games up in the Fire Division.
Luis Miguel Martínez hit a 2-run double off Dan Daley in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Browns in front, 4-2. In addition to the double, Martínez had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
