Rebels Bang Out 8-6 Win Versus Houston
|
The Boston Rebels knocked off the Houston Eagles, 8-6, at Rebels Park. Frederick Gottlieb produced 2 singles and 1 double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. José Marte got credit for the win, improving to 4-3. He allowed 5 runs on 4 hits in 6 innings. James Horton, credited with the save, is now 15 for 16 in save opportunities.
Gottlieb contributed a big hit, a 2-run double, for Boston in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Gottlieb took a slider from Ángel Duarte and stroked the double to left-center. His 6th double of the season allowed the Rebels to leap in front, 2-1.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Gottlieb.
With the win, the Rebels improved to 30-35.
