Cervezas de Miami catcher Jim Martin put on a dazzling display of power today at Su Lin Memorial Park against the Montana Pandas. In the 17-6 Cervezas de Miami victory Martin penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts.

"He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Montana manager Tadamasa Oike said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well."

Along with his three home runs, the 30-year-old had 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 6 RBIs and 4 runs scored.

"Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Martin said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today."

Jim Martin struck out in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Isaac Whitsed in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off José Calderón in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Luis Rincón in the 8th and struck out in the 9th.

Posting a .275 batting average to date, Martin has 17 home runs and 41 RBIs.
