The Yonkers Yetis shortstop tore up the New York Knights to the tune of 5 hits in 5 at-bats at Bronx Municipal Park today. The offensive onslaught from Cortéz powered the Yetis to a 14-3 win. "Cortéz was a tough out today," New York manager Matthias Maccioni said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure." John Cortéz doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Fernando García in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
