Gil Shackles Springfield Thursday, July 24th, 2036 Manuel Gil shut out the Springfield Stars 5-0 on a 2-hit masterpiece for the Austin River Sharks at The Shark Park today. "He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," Austin skipper Vicente Luna said afterward. Gil registered 6 strikeouts and issued 2 walks in pitching a gem. "We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said Springfield manager Tommy Cox after the defeat. Over the season, Gil has made no relief appearances with no saves.
