Waters NL's Best of the Week Monday, August 16th, 2038 In the twilight of his career, 35-year-old Barrett Waters of Maui recaptured some of the old magic last week and came away with the National League Player of the Week Award. "I've been playing since I was a kid," Waters told reporters, "but you're never too old to feel the thrill of success." Waters outpaced the rest of the league's hitters last week, reeling off 12 hits in 22 at-bats, 6 home runs, and 13 RBIs to stake his claim to the award. This season Waters is hitting .345 with 148 hits, 38 home runs, 116 RBIs, scored 99 runs and played in 114 games. |
