Yonkers Yetis Ship Hayes to Jersey Shore Monday, July 25th, 2039 It took some time to iron out the details, but the Yetis and D-Bags have agreed to a swap. Jersey Shore will get 28-year-old 2B Tim Workman, 28-year-old LF Bob Hayes and $43,209 in cash with Yonkers receiving 19-year-old minor league CF Jesús De La Torre, 20-year-old minor league LF Elmer Johnston, 21-year-old minor league RHP Martim Narigo and 27-year-old minor league 2B Ethan Davis in return. A source close to the trade talks said the two clubs were initially looking to make a bigger deal, but discussions broke off late last night. The two sides reconvened early today and eventually settled on this deal. This season Hayes has banged out 67 hits in 240 at-bats for a .279 average with 8 home runs. He is getting on base at a .346 pace and his totals also include 25 RBIs and 39 runs scored. Checking out his career figures, Davis has played in 292 games with a .297 batting average. Among his 323 hits are 27 home runs. He also has scored 167 runs, stolen 46 bases and driven in 139 runs. |
