Fairman Put in Cooler, Hitless Against San Francisco Friday, September 1st , 2045 Irvine shortstop Emery Fairman went 0-for-4 today in Irvine's 3-0 triumph over the San Francisco Seals, snapping his 22-game hitting streak. Fairman spoke to BNN after the game and said he "knew the hitting streak would end sooner or later." "I just would have preferred later," he said with a laugh. "It was fun though." When Fairman made an out in his last chance at the plate, his teammates congratulated him in the dugout. In the clubhouse after the game, he seemed unbothered by the streak ending. "There's nothing scientific about it, that's for sure," Seals manager Cisco Medina said of Fairman's streak. "He had a nice little run. Let him start another one when we finish the series here." In 92 games Fairman is hitting .294 this season with 107 hits, 4 home runs, 47 RBIs, 16 walks, .325 OBP and has scored 35 runs. |
