New Orleans Blanks Maui Behind Johnston
Wednesday, September 12th, 2035
All went well for Riley Johnston of the New Orleans Looters as he pitched his team to a 9-0 shutout victory over the Maui Wave, limiting them to 5 hits. In the postgame interview, both managers had glowing things to say about Johnston on the day.
"Riley's got a good selection of pitches he can throw at a guy," said Looters manager Jorge Yánez. "He changes speed, gives different looks to different hitters. When he's on his game, he's quite a handful."
In the contest, the New Orleans right-hander rang up 2 and surrendered 1 walk.
"He didn't give us any second chances," said Wave manager Ernesto Durán. "It's a guessing game with him and today we were always guessing wrong."
For the season Johnston has made 14 relief appearances, recorded 4 saves, compiled a 1-4 won-lost mark and a 5.70 ERA. In pitching 60 innings, he has totaled 32 strikeouts and 21 walks.
