Season May Be Over for Seals Chávez
Sunday, August 23rd , 2043
San Francisco starting pitcher Ismael Chávez could miss the remainder of the season because of a damaged elbow ligament. He exited yesterday's Greenville game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Chávez would be out 11-12 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."

Chávez has posted a 7-8 record for the year with a 4.84 ERA. Teams are hitting .268 against him and he has rung up 87 strikeouts in 148.2 innings.
