Machine Come up Short of Playoffs Thursday, September 30th, 2038 When a team loses its shot at a World Series championship, it's "the worst day of the year," said Chicago Machine manager Miguel Juárez. That day has now come for Chicago, as they were mathematically eliminated from playoff contention today. Chicago last appeared in the postseason in 2006. This is their 32nd consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 31 times in their 31-year history. |
