Springfield Sweeps into the Divisional Round Thursday, October 2nd, 2036 Many baseball pundits expected a close series in the Continental League Wildcard Round. It turned out quite a bit different. The Springfield Stars swept aside the Vista Panthers to advance to the Divisional Round, winning the final game by a 6-5 score at Kekambas Park. The series MVP was third baseman Milton Nixon, who hit .500 with a .571 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 4 runs. "We expected this series to go right down to the wire, so to sweep is a bit of a surprise," he said. "But we'll take it." The Springfield Stars will play against the St. Louis Browns in the next round. St. Louis had a bye in the Wildcard Round.
