Casey Pounds 3 HR Against Green Sox Friday, September 22nd , 2051 Players don't hit three home runs in a game very often and when they do, it is something to celebrate. After today, Ralph Casey can celebrate. The Fort Worth Cougars second baseman powered three into the stands at Greener Pastures today against the Lubbock Green Sox. "It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Casey told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one." In all, he was 3-for-4 as the Cougars toppled Lubbock by a score of 5-4, knocking in 5 runs and scoring 3 times. "He is blessed with a natural home run swing," Fort Worth manager Bill Hansen said. "He gets the ball up in the air." Ralph Casey hit a three-run home run off Jordan Bagnall in the 1st, flied out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jordan Bagnall in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Bobby Ross in the 9th. For the year Casey has hit at a .243 clip with 38 RBIs, 15 home runs and 27 runs scored. |
