Nevada-Greenville Trade: Rothman for Bennett Monday, January 25th, 2038 The Nevada Noise and Greenville 84's have put the finishing touches on a deal that was weeks in the making. Nevada will part with 21-year-old minor league LF Garry Rothman, 21-year-old minor league SS Germán Vela, 20-year-old minor league RHP Alberto Rodríguez and 19-year-old minor league RHP Júlio McKenzie, while the 84's have dealt 30-year-old LF Edward Bennett. "This one took a while to figure out," said Nevada general manager Michael Branda. "We must have gone back to the drawing board five or six times over the past few weeks. I'm glad we finally got the deal done. I think it is a good one for both clubs." Greenville will retain a portion of Bennett's remaining contract. Bennett's career batting average stands at .334, and he has 312 home runs. |
