Chicago-Oklahoma Trade: Salas for Alou Saturday, January 10th, 2037 It's all done except the paperwork. The Chicago Machine and the Oklahoma CowEaters have agreed to a trade that will send 29-year-old minor league 1B Joe Salas to Oklahoma, while 34-year-old LF Luis Alou, 27-year-old LF Culley Knapp, 24-year-old 3B Artie Adams and 19-year-old minor league 1B Thad Hamilton will be shipped to Chicago. A top front office executive with the Machine described the trade talks as "quick and easy." "We're glad to get this deal done. We think it's something that helps our ball club and it didn't take too long at all to sort this one out," he said. Over his career Alou is batting .264 with 309 home runs and 892 RBIs. In 1393 games he has delivered 1494 hits, scored 742 runs, stolen 29 bases and gotten on base at a .297 clip. |
